The course will equip you with the fundamental skills, tools, and knowledge needed to manage projects effectively.  There is no requirement for you to possess prior knowledge of project management, however the course is level 3 and aimed at those wishing to expand their knowledge. Whether you’re looking to advance your career, transition into project management, enhance your leadership skills, or gain a recognised framework for managing projects, this course provides a structured, hands-on learning experience. By the end of the programme, you will have developed a comprehensive project portfolio, mastered key project management techniques, and gained the confidence to apply PRINCE2 principles in real-world scenarios.  
 

Assessment:

The focus is on eportfolio-based assessment rather than traditional exams, enabling learners to build a real-world project e-portfolio that can support career progression. 
 
Assessment Overview 
 
Continuous Assessment – Learners complete structured activities in each module 
Portfolio-Based Assessment – A collection of project documents demonstrating project management  knowledge 
Formative & Summative Assessments – Ongoing feedback and a final project presentation on a project management scenario.  The presentation will assess each learner’s presentation, teamworking, project management and communication skills. 
Workplace-Relevant Tasks – Scenario-based assignments that reflect industry practice
 

Outcome:

By the end of this programme, you will have developed a strong foundation in project management, gaining practical experience with industry-standard tools and techniques essential for successfully planning, executing, and managing projects in any professional setting and secured a job interview with a relevant employer.

This programme is suitable for:

  • Adults who are employed and looking to move into a new sector and start an entry-level role.
  • Adults who are employed and have their employer’s co-funding support to progress within the company.
  • Learners who are self-employed and looking to grow their business.
  • Learners who are recently unemployed (for less than 12 months) or returning to work after a break and are looking to get started with an entry-level job in a new sector.

Bootcamp Outline:

The learning outcomes for this Project Management programme are as follows:

  1. Understand the fundamentals of project management what project management is and how to distinguish it from ongoing business operations to include learning the unique characteristics that define project work. 

  2. Understand the application of quality management, including defining and maintaining quality standards, and implementing quality controls throughout the project. 

  3. Understand the 7 PRINCE2 PRINCIPLES and how they guide project management decisions. 

  4. Identify and understand the key project roles and responsibilities within a PRINCE2 project, including the Project Manager, Project Board, Team Manager and others. 

  5. Develop a PRINCE2 style communication plan 

  6. Develop a project initiation document (PID) 

  7. Apply PRINCE2 risk management techniques 

  8. Create project schedules and resource allocation 

  9. Understand work break structures (WBS) & product-based planning meeting types and purpose and how to create Agendas and Meeting minutes, tract action items, and ensure that decisions made during meetings are effectively implemented. 

  10. Develop a PRINCE2 style communication plan understanding the importance of Teamwork in achieving common goals. Understand the role of team culture in fostering a positive work environment and develop strategies to contribute to and sustain a healthy project team culture. 

  11. Monitor and control project progress 

  12. Improve communication in project environments using structured meeting Agendas that clearly outline topics, objectives, and team allocations, ensuring a focused and productive discussion 

  13. Apply change control techniques Learn how to create meeting minutes, track action items, and ensure that decisions made during meetings are effectively implemented 

  14. Conduct formal project closure and lesson learned 

  15. Present a project professionally 

     

Eligibility & Requirements Criteria

Learners must meet all of the below criteria to take part in the Bootcamp.

  • You must be 19 or over.
  • You must be a resident of East Midlands.
  • You must be a British Citizen or have been living in England for 3 years for purposes other than study (you will need to provide residency eligibility as soon as enrolment call).
  • You must not have completed your chosen course previously as refresher courses will not be funded.
  • You must not already be on an apprenticeship or other qualification.
  • You must not have already completed a Bootcamp within the last year.
  • Must have use of a laptop/computer with a stable internet connection and use of  zoom/teams throughout your Bootcamp with a working microphone and video camera.  Chromebooks, tablets and phones are not suitable to undertaking live online sessions.
  • For Bootcamps relating to the study of Microsoft Office and other relevant software, you must have the software installed and in working order throughout the duration of the Bootcamp.
  • Because our Skills Bootcamps are of Level 3 standard in England, you will be expected to have some existing knowledge and skills within the subject area or job role that you are applying for.

You must also have:

A familiarity with applied use of Microsoft Office Suite of programmes.

Mininum level 1 functional skills ability in Maths and English.

Pass an entry interview.

Must be looking to actively search for a job immediately after graduating.

You must be able to commit to and attend 100% of live sessions as per the course requirements .

 

Course Cost:

All Bootcamps are funded and free of charge to the eligible learners.
