This Skills Bootcamp is for anyone who wants to boost their confidence using digital tools in today’s workplace. It’s ideal for adults living in the Greater London area who are either starting or returning to work in roles such as administration, customer service or coordination, as well as those already in employment who want to upskill for promotion or a change in career. It also suits self-employed professionals who wish to manage their work more efficiently in hybrid or digital settings.

The course has been co-designed with employers to ensure it fits real workplace needs across sectors such as business support, education, healthcare, and local government.

You don’t need any formal qualifications to join. All you need is:

  • Basic computer skills, such as using email and browsing the internet.
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A willingness to learn, practise, and collaborate with others.

 

Before you start, our team will guide you through a short online assessment and an informal chat to make sure this is the right level for you.

What you will learn

Over 13 weeks, you’ll develop the digital, analytical, and professional skills you need to thrive in hybrid workplaces.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

  • Confidently use Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Co-pilot) for communication and teamwork.
  • Build, analyse, and visualise data using Excel and to support business decisions.
  • Use Microsoft Co-Pilot (AI tools) to generate content, automate tasks, and improve productivity.
  • Create polished documents, presentations, and reports using Word and PowerPoint.
  • Produce a strong CV, LinkedIn profile, and digital portfolio to showcase your work to employers.
  • Communicate clearly and participate effectively in interviews and professional environments.
 

Assessment:

There are no formal exams. Instead, your progress is checked through practical, real-world work:

  • Weekly digital projects and tool-based tasks with tutor feedback.
  • Group and/or individual presentations.
  • Peer reviews and reflection logs.
  • A final applied project showing how you have used Microsoft 365 and Co-Pilot to solve a genuine workplace challenge.
  • You’ll also complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and have regular one-to-one reviews to track your progress.
 

Outcome:

You’ll complete the course with:

  • The confidence, knowledge and skills to apply for roles such as Digital Office Administrator, Customer Service Coordinator, Data Support Assistant, or Project Administrator.
  • A polished digital portfolio showcasing your work, a professional CV and LinkedIn profile ready to share with employers.
  • Access to employer partner interviews and job-opportunity support, helping you move smoothly from training into meaningful work.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a Certificate for this Course?  On completion of the course, you will receive a Cenit college certificate of completion.

How Much Time Should I Spend on the Course Each Week? This is a 13-week course with a weekly live session that you must attend. We strongly recommend you spend additional time reading the provided resources and completing the set weekly tasks This includes replaying the video lectures, undertaking the learning activities, and reading any relevant resources.  All elements of the course are open and available for 6 months after you have finished the course for you to go back and revisit.

What if I have a problems with the Course?   If you have any problems, the first place you should email is at  bootcamp@cenitcollege.co.uk  and we’ll arrange a one-to-one appointment with you to discuss your concerns.

What if I have personal problems while studying on the course?

If you have a safeguarding or welfare concern for yourself/another, you can email safeguarding@cenitcollege.co.uk   where your email will be responded to within 24 hours by our team. If you or someone else you are aware of is in crisis and it is an emergency, please don’t delay. Dial 999.   There are several support services that may also be able to help, you can call the Samaritans on 116123 24 hours a day, text SHOUT if you are in need, 24/7 to 85258 and a trained volunteer will respond to you. This programme is suitable for:

  • Adults who are employed and looking to move into a new sector and start an entry-level role.
  • Adults who are employed and have their employer’s co-funding support to progress within the company.
  • Learners who are self-employed and looking to grow their business.
  • Learners who are recently unemployed (for less than 12 months) or returning to work after a break and are looking to get started with an entry-level job in a new sector.

Bootcamp Outline:

You will learn through a mix of live tutor-led sessions, self-study, and practical projects. Most weeks include one full-day (9:30am-3:00pm) session, where you work with tutors and peers. You then reinforce what you’ve learned through online tasks, quizzes and reflective work. You’ll hear from guest speakers and work in teams, giving you real-world insight and networking experience. Classes are weekly on Mondays 9.30am to 3pm  – In person dates are mandatory to attend on the above weeks.

Eligibility & Requirements Criteria

Learners must meet all of the below criteria to take part in the Bootcamp.

  • You must be 19 or over.
  • You must be a resident of Greater London.
  • You must be a British Citizen or have been living in England for 3 years for purposes other than study (you will need to provide residency eligibility as soon as enrolment call).
  • You must not have completed your chosen course previously as refresher courses will not be funded.
  • You must not already be on an apprenticeship or other qualification.
  • You must not have already completed a Bootcamp within the last year.
  • Must have use of a laptop/computer with a stable internet connection and use of  zoom/teams throughout your Bootcamp with a working microphone and video camera.  Chromebooks, tablets and phones are not suitable to undertaking live online sessions.
  • For Bootcamps relating to the study of Microsoft Office and other relevant software, you must have the software installed and in working order throughout the duration of the Bootcamp.
  • Because our Skills Bootcamps are of Level 3 standard in England, you will be expected to have some existing knowledge and skills within the subject area or job role that you are applying for.

You must also have:

A familiarity with applied use of Microsoft Office Suite of programmes.

Mininum level 1 functional skills ability in Maths and English.

Pass an entry interview.

Must be looking to actively search for a job immediately after graduating.

You must be able to commit to and attend 100% of the live sessions as per the course requirements.
The programme runs for 13 weeks, with one full day of live learning each week, from 9:30am to 3:00pm.
