The accredited Supervising First Aid for Mental Health program, offered in two parts by Nuco Training, aims to equip you with a deeper understanding of mental health, enabling you to provide effective advice and support. You will learn to identify various mental health disorders and become familiar with the appropriate first aid action plan for addressing them.

Modes of Delivery:

This programme is completed fully online through the Cenit College Learning Platform. The course can be taken using many different formats:

  • Interactive Lessons: Featuring on screen text, graphics, animations, quizzes, etc.
  • Audio-Only: Listen to the full course narration in an accessible audio player, with captions which will also work on the go.
  • Slide Decks: For those who prefer to read, you can look at the slides for the entire course.
  • Transcript: A transcript of the spoken narration which is useful those those with visual impairments or language barriers.

About:

The purpose of this course is to educate the learner about mental health, including its definition, the causes of mental health conditions, and the role of a first aider. Additionally, it covers topics such as providing advice, identifying stress, comprehending the effects of substance abuse, and understanding first aid action plans. Requirements:

There are no requirements to partake in the course. We would recommend that learners have a general interest in the mental health area and passion for helping others.

The technical requirements include:

  • 5MB broadband essential.
  • PC or laptop for the best experience.

  • Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace
  • Understand a range of mental health disorders and the support / therapy provided by healthcare professionals
